Brief Company History

Established over 100 years ago under the name Alexander Lawrence & Son in Church Street, Dumbarton the company has been a mainstay in the local economy serving a variety of customers large and small. 

Run by the Robertson family since the late 1940s the company relocated to its current premises in 3 Poplar Road, Dumbarton in 1964 under the new name of J&J Robertson. The coming of the digital age in print meant the beginning of a new era in 2002 when the company rebranded itself as JJR Print Ltd. In 2024, the company was bought by current Managing Director, Stewart Byron, a long term employee of the company. Stewart continues the company's association with the Robertson family as he is former owner, Iain Robertson's son-in-law.

Our links to Dumbarton are rooted in our history and we as a company are very active with sponsorship of local charities, causes and sports teams. It is vital to our company ethos to give back to our local area when and where we can.
